The Gathering

The Gathering s’avère une attaque sonore qui laisse bien peu de répit, gracieuseté d’un alignement extrêmement efficace, composé des membres fondateurs Chuck Billy (voix) et Eric Peterson (guitare), et consolidé par la présence de James Murphy (Obituary, Death), Steve DiGiorgio (Death) et Dave Lombardo (ex-Slayer, Grip Inc). Tout en ne s’éloignant pas du style thrash-death auquel on est habitué, Testament retient notre attention grâce à la force brute qui se dégage de morceaux comme 3 Days in Darkness, DNR, Careful What You Wish For, Riding The Snake et Sewn Shut Eyes.
