L'American Society of Cinematographersa annoncé aujourd'hui qu'elle allait remettre un prix au réputé directeur photo Caleb Deschanel pour l'ensemble de son oeuvre cette année. Au fil des ans, Deschanel a été en lice pour l'Oscar de la meilleure direction photo cinq fois, soit pour The Right Stuff de Philip Kaufman, The Natural de Barry Levinson, Fly Away Home de Carroll Ballard, The Patriot de Roland Emmerich et The Passion of the Christ de Mel Gibson.
Il a aussi mis en images Being There, It Could Happen to You, Anna and the King, The Spiderwick Chronicles et Timeline, qu'il était venu tourner à Montréal.
À notre avis bien personnel, son chef d'oeuvre demeure néanmoins sa fille, l'actrice Zooey Deschanel…
